Vasily Petrenko was winner of the 2002 international conducting competition organised biannually by the Cadaqués Orchestra. This launched his career and since then he had led some of the great international orchestras. The first two works on this album were specially orchestrated by Albert Guinovart for the Cadaqués Orchestra itself. Tchaikovsky’s Suite No. 4 is the composer’s tribute to Mozart in recognition of his great legacy. The album is a recording of a concert given at the 2006 Cadaqués Music Festival.
