In Memoriam: Yuri Temirkanov (10 December 1938 – 2 November 2023)

3 Nov, 2023

“Maestro Temirkanov was a legend. I have so many memories of the incredible rehearsals and concerts I attended in Leningrad, St.Petersburg and beyond… He gave so much to the orchestras and the public in his life, combining unbelievable knowledge and intelligent craft with astonishing emotion in his music-making, bringing new depths into even the most well-known repertoire. He will be greatly missed by many people all around the world, but his legacy will live on in his recordings, and in the memories of orchestras and students as long as classical music sounds.”
