Thanks to The Times for its review of Mahler’s Sixth Symphony, which Vasily Petrenko and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performed at the Royal Albert Hall. The Times review reported: “where Petrenko’s interpretation scored highly was his clarity, immediacy and drive, pushing through the opening swathes with brisk tempos and a disciplined approach, yet finding space to breathe in the luminous second theme. And the RPO gave its all.”
