The Royal College of Music appoints Vasily Petrenko as International Visiting Artist

28 Jan, 2026

The Royal College of Music (RCM) is delighted to announce the appointment of esteemed conductor Vasily Petrenko as International Visiting Artist from September 2026. Vasily will join the RCM on a four-year term, visiting three times a year to teach and once a year to conduct the RCM Symphony Orchestra.  Vasily comments: “Working with young musicians and emerging conductors has always been a central part of my life. From youth orchestras to masterclasses, I’ve seen how access to real-world experience at the right moment can be transformative. I’m delighted to join the Royal College of Music as an International Visiting Artist and to work closely with students as they develop not only their craft, but their confidence, judgement and leadership as future conductors.”
