The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) has announced its 2026/7 season concerts for its residencies around the UK – and Vasily Petrenko will conduct the Orchestra for performances at Reading and Hull. Vasily comments: “I am delighted to return to Reading and Hull as part of the RPO’s 80th anniversary season. Our concerts beyond London – together with our education work – fulfil our commitment to enrich communities across the UK. For the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, turning 80 is both a celebration and a milestone as we look ahead to the next chapter, and our concerts outside London help us to maximise support for music venues at a challenging time to give local communities access to a world-class orchestra on their doorstep. Our 80th season will be full of reflections, remembrances and evocations: music that celebrates music, and the musicians who make it. And above all, music that celebrates our audience – the people who make the music complete.”
