“In terms of virtuosity, intensity, phrasing, tone colour and profound musical understanding, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian has everything” was the verdict of British critic Robert Matthew-Walker on the young violinist last year. Tjeknavorian is well on his way from successful young talent – in 2015 he won second place in the Jean Sibelius Violin Competition – to international audience favourite: in the current season he is guesting as a “rising star” (ECHO) in the major concert halls of Europe. After the concert, the popular Fridays@7 format creates a relaxed atmosphere in the Konzerthaus foyer for the young Austrian with Armenian roots.

Programme:

Milhaud: “Cinema Fantaisie Le Boeuf sure le Toit for Violin and Piano”
Rimsky-Korsakov: “Scheherazade – Symphonic Suite, Op. 35”
