Germany, Künzelsau – The Würth Philharmonic | Beautiful sonic contrasts

Drama, longing, and splendor characterize this concert, in which three eras and sound worlds enter into dialogue. While Carl Maria von Weber’s passionate Euryanthe Overture opens the space for profound emotions, Samuel Barber’s Violin Concerto, Op. 14, unfolds a shimmering dialogue between delicacy and virtuosity. Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s “Reformation Symphony” rounds off the program with solemn radiance and visionary spirit.

The Würth Philharmonic will be conducted for the first time by Vasily Petrenko, Music Director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The young violinist María Dueñas, who has long since won over audiences in major concert halls with her warm tone and exceptional expressiveness, will be the soloist.
